Pray Before
You Panic
In February, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. Because of this invasion, millions of Ukrainians fled their homes and country. This crisis also caused global problems, such as food shortages and a very rapid price increase on food supplies all over the world.

During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, prayer seemed to become more important than it had been previously. Businesses and churches alike putting up signs that said, Pray for Ukraine." There were prayer vigils, and songs about praying for Ukraine, and even days of prayer set up for this suffering country. There were many websites posting articles tell people how they could pray for Ukraine.

One pastor's church sat right between the Russian and Ukrainian military forces. Andrei Martinov, of Grace Generation Church, was asked if he was nervous about his church's situation, and he replied, "No! No. No. We just pray."

The best thing a person can do is get themself into the habit of praying before making decisions or acting on problems when they arise. It may take a little practice, but it is best to take your problem to God first. Most people want to almost immediately "react" and try to figure out solutions on their own when situations and trials happen in their lives. Prayer is sometimes their last resort, instead of being their first instinct.

Christians have access to the power of prayer anytime, anywhere, every day. Prayer should always be the first reaction when problems, situations, or trials come up that could cause us to panic. Life would be so much less stressful if we prayed first, asking for God's wisdom and guidance, rather than us making a more horrible mess out of things. Then we need to eagerly and expectantly and confidently wait for God's answer, without panicking.

Prayer is our open line of communication that takes us directly to the throne of God. Once we have gone to God in prayer over a situation, then it is in His hands. Amazing things can happen when we go to God first, and not as our last resort.

According to Jeremiah 29:11, God has great plans for us and our future.
Jeremiah 29:11--11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I John 5:14-15 reads,
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

God wants us to go to Him first and not panic and waste our time trying to handle things on our own without Him. If we seek His guidance first, it will help us remain calmer and help us to not panic over the bad things that are sure to happen in our lives.
